Ohayo Gozaimasu! Greetings from Japan!
I first went to Japan in 2009 with my mom and brother; together we explored Tokyo, Nara, Kobe, Osaka and Kyoto and fell in love with the culture, the people and the hospitality. I couldn’t wait to go back and take my own family to experience the same.
On this trip we did stray from the normal crowded hustle and bustle and opted for a few days of calm, quiet and serene.
I take you today to the Ryukyu Islands, specifically to O K I N A W A
Okinawa is a very special place rich with history and culture that differs from the main island of Japan. Something interesting to note is that Okinawa houses one of the highest rates of centenarians in the world.
Centenarians: population of 100-year-olds and up
If you live in such a beautiful place and I can definitely see why!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed searching for sea life including sea turtles on Yoshino Beach and Sunayama Beach.
This little island is small yet an enchanting place to road trip on, discovering new beaches and coves. In fact, a lot of the beaches we searched via maps did not take us where it indeed was. It was a little adventure searching out and locating some of the beaches but well worth it.
Because we had to try some local food we stopped of at Resnakama Cafe and enjoyed the Miyako Soba Tantan Men Soup! It was just what we needed after our beach adventures.

If we could have, we would have changed up our whole itinerary and spent 3 more days in the Ryukyu Islands. We will definitely be back probably sooner than later.
Don’t take my word for it check it out yourself!
Travel On!
